Tracey Hickox is the director of the Integrative Biology Merit Program for Emerging Scholars and program coordinator for the majors course in Integrative Biology for incomimg freshman at the University of Illinois. She received her B.S. and M.S. in Biology from the University of Memphis and is a Ph.D. Candidate in Plant Biology at the University of Illinois. Her current education research focuses on recruitment and retention of students into STEM majors using the Merit collaborative learning model based on the the research of Uri Treisman (www.merit.uiuc.edu).  She is also involved in summer workshops which train high school and community college science teachers to implement their own Merit-style Programs.
